WhatsApp new features: PIP mode, Group call shortcut and more
Whatsapp has been dealing with including an entire bundle of new updates for their beta clients through the Google Play Beta Program. The most recent WhatsApp beta updates version 2.18.384 and the past updates have purchased in a large group of changes which incorporates the PiP mode, new emoticons design, sticker search, and various other features.
The highlights recorded underneath are as yet a piece of the Beta testing program and will end up accessible to end clients soon, as indicated by Wabetainfo site. Be that as it may, in the event that despite everything you need to encounter these new features, you can apply for the Google Play Beta Program
Also known as the Picture-in-Picture mode, Whatsapp has started releasing the update for its shared videos in the app. However, users will need to ensure they have the 0.3.1846 version installed. The same goes for Whatsapp desktop update.
For Whatsapp Web users, the application automatically checks for a new update when opened and installs it at the next launch. To know if you are on the same version, go to Whatsapp Web > Setting > Help. If the version is older, you should try clearing the browser cache.
Updated Emoji layout
With the new beta version, Whatsapp has introduced a layout change for its emojis. No, we are not kidding but Whatsapp has made minor changes to some 357 emojis across the entire emoji drawer found on the messaging app.
The changes made to the emojis are colours, small new details, alignment of the emojis and softer new design.
Whatsapp has been rolling out the Multi Text share feature update for its beta users on Android.
To use this feature, users need to share a text with at least two contacts from a different application. Whatsapp then shows a preview of the text which will be shared.
Adding to this feature, Whatsapp has also put in support for Multi Share File feature. The feature sounds and works similar to the Multi-Share Text feature which means users will need to share a file, from another app to at least two of their contacts.
You can find this feature in the 2.18.366 update version.
Group Call Shortcut
The new Android beta update from Whatsapp goes on the version 2.18.373 and now places a group call shortcut button in Whatsapp groups which allow users to swiftly make calls to the participants of the group.
The update was initially rolled out on the 2.18.370 beta update with a few users being able to experience it. However, with the 2.18.373 beta update, more and more users are getting this feature. Once the update rollout is complete, users should be able to spot a group call feature button in their groups.
Since the timeline for the feature rollout is longer, we would suggest patience until it finally rolls out for end users.
Sticker Search feature
The new sticker search feature allows users to quickly search stickers from their collection. Along with the new sticker search feature update, Whatsapp has also introduced a new GIF search UI update.
However, in an article published on wabetainfo website, there is a turnaround/trick to get the sticker search feature. To use it, Tap on a received sticker, then tap on View More. Whatsapp will show the sticker pack, but the sticker search button is now shown in the stickers view.
